My Buddy Andy capitalized on some good drum fishing this afternoon. I’m pretty sure I was the only boat in the pamlico sound other than the ferry’s. It looks calm in the pictures but it wasn’t. We made a long ride yesterday to mountain creek in hopes of finding some cleaner water, we got lucky and found a few pretty trout at the end of our trip as the water was cleaning up. Looks like we’ve got another wind event coming this weekend. Let’s hope this is the one of of the season. #barnysloigh #newspot

As big eye would say “we scrapped it out the last few days” a few Drum when the wind was howling, some blues and a few convicts!!! If it’s blowin,, we goin,,, a lot of people ask me when is the best time to catch red Drum.. and I always say when it’s about 25-30 knots of wind…. Today I set out on sea biscuit point and it was rough but we had a great morning…. Elijah and his brother who caught the last legal NC flounder this year did a great job! This afternoon the wind really cranked and it was a no brainer back at biscuits point!!!! I decided to fish what seemed like the bearing sea today…. As hard as the wind blew we should have caught 200 drum, but instead we beat the screws outta the boat and did find a few…. My man Captain George was spot on this afternoon. He caught his limit and had to wait for his slack freind to catch something other than a bluefish!!!!!!
