If you like light tackle casting then speckled trout fishing is right in your wheel house. We cast paddle tail baits in depths of 3-6 feet of water over hump and drop offs in the Pamlico Sound. At any one time the bluefish can blitz you, or you can even hook into a flounder or red drum. You’ll find that the trout fishing provides the opportunity to experience the specific technique in bringing them to the box. It is a total hands on from the casting to setting the hook. And not to mention they are one of the prettiest and tastiest fish we catch here in Hatteras on the Outer Banks .
