I ran around all day like a chicken with his head cut off until I finally landed on em 20 miles from where I was yesterday. . It was to calm for the swirly and hook up today, they only like to fish when it’s breaking over the bow. Some days it’s better to be lucky than good, Today we got lucky. #pink

I’ve stayed close to hatteras the last two days and had plenty of big giant bluefish action, and some slot drum. Today I decided to make a 53 mile run to the Neuse River and fish Garbacon shoal, I’ve been hearing stories of this place and how it was holding big drum so we have it a go in a 20knot NE wind.. as I pulled up the reel swirly was already there!! I just couldn’t figure out how he beat me down there but then he told me trailed around because it was to rough to make the ride…. Im glad he was there though…. He was sitting right dead on my numbers hooked up with a quad! It had too be some of the prettiest big drum fishing I’ve seen in awhile. All day long! I don’t know how many we caught but my hands hurt a lot! I think swirly had about 40 releases before he called it because it got to rough. #simplelife #hatterasNCreddrumcapitaloftheworld #OnEm

We’ve fished a few days since the NE disaster and the road closure last week. I never thought I would see a triple tail in Barney’s slough, but yep….. it happened! I went offshore today with my buddy Jake and we had some good Mahi fishing then did a bunch of jigging around some wrecks. The catch of the week goes to Adina who caught a giant drum at podunk point!!!! We had a lot of availability this fall for live bait fishing! #mahi #deepsea #runaway #simplelife #8

It feels like may around here this past few days. Gaffers, cobias,jacks, and kings! I had the dolphins going good until runaway decided to jump in my circle!!!! Some people just don’t know how to bail dolphins! This past weekend the kiddos won some hardware at the kids fishing tournament, im glad I’ve taught them something. Fall in Hatteras, Cobias, Kings, yesterday! Today I took off straight to the SE to a small spot I’ve got labeled as Hook-up.. on my plotter. I pinged the hook- up one day there with my new radar 360’ dome system…. and since he’s outta town chasing moose I figured it would be a great time to rape his secret numbers!! A few cobias this weekend and flounders by night. Fog went with us this evening. River had a big one get away from him, and was pretty upset.. fog said “I’ve seen 5 granders in my life, didn’t get any of them”. So he wasn’t as upset after he heard that, keep it simple this evening we did! #simplelife

I’ve never told anyone where Podunk Point is at, but this morning I told capt. Rick on speck-tackler to follow me there. Of course he didn’t listen and then he passed me and kept on going somewhere else. Well as I pulled up there was a few cobias and I should have had another rod ready!! But very thankful to get what we did! Some kings, jacks, Spanish, and grey trout rounded out the morning. Calm winds all week and hot weather. I think we caught everything from blues, Spanish, cobia, amberjack, king mackeral and even a pending state record moonfish. Today the wearher finally turned cool and the wind blew outta the NE pretty hard. I took off across the sound down near the Neuse river and found plenty of big drum action. I dipped my bow a few times but was glad too be in a big 30’ pathfinder for the ride home! #pinkboat #pink
