After our slow fishing around home yesterday I decided to burn the old gas from this past king mackeral season outta the tank. We took off to find warmer water straight to the east. After a few stops and no love I found what I was after!!!! Podunk point was holding warm water, lots of bait, and big schools!!!! Slots. Citations. And keepers. I wasn’t quite ready for what we found but managed to scrape up a few old bucktails. The red boat is getting a quick maintenance job, and is currently at the welding shop getting more rod holders welded onto the tower, . It’s been a long cold winter in Hatteras, it snowed for the first time here in quite awhile. Duck season just ended last week so I’ve been wrapping that up and taking a little time off from being on the water. We will be fishing very soon…. Well it seems like the charters have come to an end. The sound has gotten cold and we’ve been doing some surf fishing. Not sure how anyone catches anything surf fishing, but we did manage a croaker and a few stingrays this past week. I’d rather be in a boat!!! The ocean was as calm as you’ll see it in November. Fishing was on the so-so side. There was some live bait action but I was stuck in a Sharknado most of the afternoon!!!!! It kind of reminded me of the movie twister!! I couldn’t get away from em…. Stuart did catch a citation at 30lbs. And plenty more to top the bagels with!!!! Well the wind howled yesterday and flooded our island. Today I worked on some duck shit, and installed a new GPS, rigged some new decoys, and removed a seat from the jet boat and made quite the discovery…. I was gonna fill in the hole with epoxy and foam but realized it made a better beer holder. So with it i went! Anyone got a flush mounted michelob ultra holder in their boats floor? That’s some Craig Allen shit!!!!! Hopefully we will be back to fishing soon because I’m getting very bored!

Another day of being a part-timer…. So I decided to get a few of the duck boats ready.. Most of my sheepshead fishing is all done with my side-scan sonar or live scope, but I gave the ol’ barry Jr. a true sonar workout today. The ocean was calm enough to run down the beach and burn some gas in my jet boat.
