We somehow braved an entire day in about as rough as I want for awhile!! We managed to catch a few. Kim and his crew sure didn’t seem to mind the big sea but I sure hated it!!! The sheep herder rounded the flock up this morning but quite a few got away!!!! We snuck back in the sound and Ol tip cranker Kim caught some drum. I had to get the binoculars out this afternoon to keep that teal colored boat honest. I see why his net is clear now. So nobody can see him swinging it around!!!! Since Puffys point got over fished and wiped out ,,, We put the new sonar to use finally!! 60k for a transducer should have found me more fish than it has , but I have been waiting all spring to deploy this new technology that costs more than it should.. and took a month to install this winter. It took awhile to get dialed in , but I did find a few rocks that nobody has ever seen before! We made a long run today and when we got there the new guy said to turn around…. So we turned around!!! But we did hit up brendas bench on the way home and found plenty of bites… Our great cobia catch today was a stud!!! He would have earned a citation for sure. Just the wrong kind of citation!!! I did find some giant bluefish on the 550 line which was quite a bit of pillage. We decided to try a few new spots today. And I marked them in my gps as 10pound drop because I think everyone caught a citation sheep’s today!!! We had em corralled up for awhile. This afternoon I let podunk point alone and made a long ride to gum neck creek and the blues were big and angry! In case your wondering what fishing with Tim looks like. About 30 lbs of fillets and a 4lb bag of scraps for stock headed to the freezer. Don’t know where you are from, but where I live fish runs 20.00 per lb and up. That’s over 600.00 in fresh fish. Makes it one cheap charter.
